TOBAM recruits to strengthen its presence in the Francophone market

Sylvain Viret joins TOBAM as Business Development Manager, dedicated to the development of Anti-Benchmark strategies amongst investors in France, Luxembourg, Monaco and Switzerland.

The asset management company TOBAM today announced the arrival of a new recruitment, in order to strengthen its distribution platform targeting French and francophone investors. Sylvain Viret joins TOBAM as Business Development Manager, dedicated to the development of Anti-Benchmark strategies amongst investors in France, Luxembourg, Monaco and Switzerland.

TOBAM has been working for years with investors, accompanying them with a pedagogic process aimed at raising awareness about risks entailed in market-cap weighted strategies.

TOBAM was recently selected by Erafp, one of the leading French institutional investors, for a nonmarket-cap weighted European equities mandate. Sylvain’s appointment will strengthen its distribution platform in the francophone region in order to address institutional investors as well as funds of funds and distributors.

By reinforcing its now 17-strong team, TOBAM is building on its recent business achievements (40% increase in AUM since December 2010), and is positioned f for further expansion of the Anti-Benchmark capabilities.

Sylvain Viret, Business Development Manager, Francophone Markets Sylvain Viret, 48, began his career as a financial analyst at BNP Paribas Group before working as an equities manager and then head of multi-management at BGPI (Crédit Agricole). He subsequently participated in business development at UBS and Pioneer/Unicredit in Paris with francophone institutional and retail clients. More recently, Sylvain expanded his activity to SRI and particularly to social economy (microfinance) as well as to shareholder commitment with Phitrust Active Investors. Sylvain Viret graduated from Paris Dauphine University and is a member of the French Society of Financial Analysts (SFAF).
